ROUTE 66 ADOPTION TOUR

Every year we sponsor Fido Friendly Mag’s Route 66 Adoption Tour & Donate money and BTL products toward Dog Adoption events along The Historic Route 66 at various shelters

Get Your Licks on Route 66® is an event dedicated to saving lives, one shelter at a time. Each year, this month-long adoption tour travels from Los Angeles to Chicago, typically scheduled from August to September, with approximately nine stops along the way. The tour’s mission is to continue rescuing animals by supporting shelters and rescue organizations.

At each stop, attendees have the opportunity to donate and spin a wheel for a chance to win exciting prizes, including our donated Bike Tow Leash and various accessories. Every spin contributes to the vital work of the animal shelters and rescue partners participating in the tour.

4K9PAWS, a Bike Tow Leash initiative, is proud to support Get Your Licks on Route 66® by donating products every year, which helps save hundreds of animals in need.

As of the 2025 Fido Friendly Get Your Licks on Route 66® Tour the pet adoption tour has helped to place 1,286 pets into new forever homes this year! This brings the total of adoptions in the first 17 years to 21,654.

We have made donations to various causes, including dog rescues through our partnership with Pilots N Paws, dog adoption organizations, and service dog organizations like Domino Service Dogs and New Horizons. We also support dog sports competitions, such as the DockDogs® World Championship and the GWPCA National Events.
